Job Role and Responsibility: AMD Design LLC, a subsidiary of AMD, Inc., is hiring Sr. Firmware BMC Engineers to Develop platform BMC (Baseboard Management Controller), reference code, and related documentation for Cloud Servers. Design, develop, code, and debug BMC/Firmware by applying knowledge of server hardware architecture and system design. Review and provide feedback on firmware and software architecture specifications and design specifications. Layout and establish design documents with the engineering team. Study computer motherboard and BMC system specifications and configuration requirements to plan and develop reliability and compatibility. Plan and execute reference code and collateral. Participate in key product development and technical teams. Participate in new platform power-on events. Engage various cross-team validation organizations.

Qualifications: Degree required
Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.
Qualifications: Amount and type of experience required: Two (2) years of experience as a Sr. Engineer or a related role.
Alternate combination of education and experience: Employer will alternatively accept a master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field and any amount of experience as a Sr. Engineer or a related role.
Specific skills required: The following skills are required:
Position requires two (2) years of experience in the following:
- BMC (Baseboard Management Controller) development including user interface development or presentation layer development, including Redfish.
- Server hardware interfaces and debugging issues with Industry specifications, including SMBus (System Management Bus), PCIe (Peripheral Component Interconnect Express), ACPI (Advanced Configuration and Power Interface), DDR (Double Data Rate), Ethernet, SATA (Serial Advanced Technology Attachment), SPI (Serial Peripheral Technology Attachment), I2C (Inter-Integrated Circuit), or SSIF (SMBus System Interface).
- Processor and Enterprise system-level architectures.
- Enterprise platform architecture with CPUs, memory controllers, BMC and IO (Input Output) Hubs.
- Network or IO technology device drivers.
- BIOS (Basic Input Output System) functions as it relates to BMC.
- Board level diagnostic tools using interfaces, including JTAG (Joint Test Action Group), and usage of utilities including Dediprog or Diamond programmer for CPLD (Complex Programmable Logic Device).
- C coding.
- Internal operations of Operating Systems and its interaction with BMC functions.
