THE ROLE:

AMD is seeking a Senior Manager, U.S. Trade Facilitation to join our Global Trade organization as a high‑impact contributor supporting our U.S. import operations. This role plays a critical part in enabling AMD’s complex, high‑technology supply chain by ensuring compliant, efficient, and scalable U.S. import processes.

As a senior individual contributor, you will operate at the intersection of trade compliance, supply chain operations, and business strategy. You will work closely with cross‑functional partners across Supply Chain, Legal, Finance, Engineering, IT, and external customs brokers to support import execution, regulatory compliance, and strategic trade initiatives. This position is well suited for an experienced trade professional who combines deep operational expertise with the ability to influence and guide stakeholders across the enterprise.

THE PERSON:

The ideal candidate is a seasoned U.S. import compliance professional who is comfortable working independently while collaborating closely with a broad range of internal and external partners. You bring sound judgment, intellectual curiosity, and the ability to navigate regulatory complexity in a fast‑paced, evolving business environment. You are able to translate complex customs requirements into practical, actionable guidance and are confident supporting senior leaders on trade‑related matters.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on U.S. import compliance, including tariff classification, customs valuation, country of origin, admissibility, Incoterms, and Partner Government Agency requirements for advanced semiconductor and high‑technology products.
  • Oversee U.S. customs broker governance, including Power of Attorney management, SOP standardization, performance monitoring, and issue escalation.
  • Ensure accurate and timely customs filings, post‑entry activities, reconciliations, and responses to U.S. Customs and Border Protection inquiries.
  • Monitor U.S. trade regulatory developments, including Sections 301 and 232, USMCA, and other trade remedies, and provide practical business guidance in coordination with the Global Trade team.
  • Participate in internal compliance assessments, root‑cause analysis, and development and execution of corrective action plans.
  • Support U.S. duty mitigation strategies, including duty drawback, tariff engineering, and participation in special trade programs.
  • Partner with Finance and Tax stakeholders to quantify duty savings, compliance risks, and optimization opportunities.
  • Leverage ACE data, dashboards, and KPIs to monitor compliance health, broker performance, and cost drivers.
  • Support trade systems and ERP initiatives, including SAP GTS, S/4HANA, and third‑party trade solutions, to enhance automation, controls, and data quality
  • Contribute to the design and continuous improvement of scalable import compliance SOPs and control frameworks.
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain, Logistics, Procurement, Engineering, Legal, Finance, and IT teams to integrate import compliance into sourcing, product design, and operational processes.
  • Provide clear, actionable guidance and targeted training to internal stakeholders and external broker partners.
  • Travel: Up to 10% of domestic and occasional international travel.
  • This role may require interaction with export-controlled technologies and compliance with applicable U.S. regulations.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Progressive experience supporting U.S. import compliance in a multinational, high‑technology, manufacturing, or similarly complex environment.
  • Demonstrated expertise in U.S. customs regulations, including HTS classification, valuation, country of origin, trade remedies, and special trade programs.
  • Proven experience managing customs brokers and third‑party trade service providers.
  • Experience supporting semiconductor, electronics, or advanced manufacturing supply chains.
  • Experience contributing to trade system implementations or significant process transformations.
  • Demonstrated success operating as a senior individual contributor with enterprise‑wide influence.

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in International Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering, Law, or a related field preferred.
  • Licensed U.S. Customs Broker (LCB) preferred.
  • Advanced degree or additional trade certifications a plus.

This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
