THE ROLE:

AMD are currently seeking a highly skilled SAP Costing Functional Expert to support their SPA Costing transformation. This role sits within the IT department and is ideal for professionals with a background in either cost accountancy or computer science. The role offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a transformative SAP costing implementation project within a dynamic and innovative company

THE PERSON:

Driven and motivated with leadership skills with ability to influence and negotiate multiple internal stakeholders.  Manage and deliver multiple priorities in a constrained timeline, with strong business acumen with the ability to establish trust / relationships quickly. Work effectively in multiple time zones with global teams. Excellent communication skills. The successful candidate will need to be specialized in SAP costing.

KEY RESPONSIBILITES:

• Join the IT team managing and transforming product costing at AMD
• Local subject matter expert in Austin working closely with the product cost teams
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into SAP functionalities
• Configure and maintain standard cost settings and perform detailed variance analysis
• Provide technical support and resolve issues related to SAP costing modules
• Ensure costing solutions align with business goals and compliance requirements

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

• Hands-on experience implementing and supporting SAP costing solutions
• Strong knowledge in product cost planning and cost object controlling
• Key costing functionalities a candidate should be proficient in
• Determining standard prices for materials
• Analyzing planned, target and actual costs
• Calculating WIP and finished good inventory
• Calculating and analyzing variances
• Supporting period-end closing activities
• Strong understanding of SAP PCC, MR22 customizations, standard cost settings, and variance analysis
• Technical proficiency in SAP and ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues independently
• Educational background in cost accountancy or computer science
• Experience of costing solutions for outsourced manufacturing model is highly desired
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and lead business stakeholders

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

• Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or related field preferred.
