THE ROLE:
AMD are currently seeking a highly skilled SAP Costing Functional Expert to support their SPA Costing transformation. This role sits within the IT department and is ideal for professionals with a background in either cost accountancy or computer science. The role offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a transformative SAP costing implementation project within a dynamic and innovative company
THE PERSON:
Driven and motivated with leadership skills with ability to influence and negotiate multiple internal stakeholders. Manage and deliver multiple priorities in a constrained timeline, with strong business acumen with the ability to establish trust / relationships quickly. Work effectively in multiple time zones with global teams. Excellent communication skills. The successful candidate will need to be specialized in SAP costing.
KEY RESPONSIBILITES:
- Join the IT team managing and transforming product costing at AMD
- Local subject matter expert in Austin working closely with the product cost teams
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into SAP functionalities
- Configure and maintain standard cost settings and perform detailed variance analysis
- Provide technical support and resolve issues related to SAP costing modules
- Ensure costing solutions align with business goals and compliance requirements
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- Hands-on experience implementing and supporting SAP costing solutions
- Strong knowledge in product cost planning and cost object controlling
- Key costing functionalities a candidate should be proficient in
- Determining standard prices for materials
- Analyzing planned, target and actual costs
- Calculating WIP and finished good inventory
- Calculating and analyzing variances
- Supporting period-end closing activities
- Strong understanding of SAP PCC, MR22 customizations, standard cost settings, and variance analysis
- Technical proficiency in SAP and ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues independently
- Educational background in cost accountancy or computer science
- Experience of costing solutions for outsourced manufacturing model is highly desired
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and lead business stakeholders
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
- Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or related field preferred.
