THE ROLE:

This dynamic, highly visible role drives product Quality & Reliability from concept to end of life with a strong focus on the Post-Launch Sustaining Phase. Primary goals are to ensure a differentiated experience, improve customer satisfaction and build customer confidence. The suitable candidate will lead the global Client Sustaining Product Line Quality (PLQ) and Client Customer Quality Engineering (CQE) teams. This role involves cross-functional collaboration and strategic influence across global teams. Key cross-functional interfaces for this role include Customer, AMD Client Business unit, AMD Silicon & Package Reliability teams, AMD Design Product Engineering leadership, AMD Supply Chain, and AMD Sales.

THE PERSON:

Successful candidates will demonstrate being self-starters with an autonomous approach and strong interpersonal skills and ability to influence other individuals and teams.  Experience leading a global team is a plus.   As the lead for our Asia CQE team, the role requires occasional evening collaboration with Asia-based teams; flexible scheduling options available. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lead Sustaining Client CQE interface with customers for quality and reliability items .
• Influence cross-functional activities across design, platform, operations and customer system bring-up and manufacturing to meet customer requirements.  Partner with Client NPI PLQ to drive implementation of Product Quality Lessons Learned from customer cases into Client pre-launch roadmap products.
• Partner with AMD Supplier Quality Engr team (SQE) to influence Fab and OSAT suppliers to meet product quality & reliability requirements including current and future technologies.
• Partner closely with Client BU Customer Engineering (CE) teams & Customer SQE teams to plan and prioritize failure analysis.
• Lead Quality stakeholder in Product Change Review Board (PCRB) & Material Review Board (MRB) forums.
• Lead Annual / Semi-annual Customer Quality Executive Reviews w/key Client strategic customers.
• Measure and improve outgoing product quality & reliability through Product end-of-life.
• Maintaining robust Quality Processes & Quality Management Systems
• Program-manage root cause debug efforts related to customer line reject and field failure units
• Drive resolution of customer quality/reliability excursions; primary interface with customers on quality excursions to drive containment/corrective action with Design/Pkg Eng/PPE as required.
• Main interface between AMD Customers/BU on all Post-launch Client quality issues.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

• Subject Matter Expert of Semiconductor Platform, Product Engineering, Program Management, or Customer Quality Engineering Experience Preferred.
• Semiconductor Customer Quality Engineering experience strongly preferred.

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

• BS/MS in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Materials Science or similar.
