Job Role and Responsibility: AMD, Inc., is hiring MTS Systems Design Eng. to Research, design, develop, and/or test electronic components and systems for semiconductor and related device manufacturing, employing knowledge of electronic theory. Design exceptional semiconductor products that drive the evolution of computing experiences, serving as the cornerstone for enterprise Data Centers, Artificial Intelligence, HPC, and Embedded systems. Help debugging issues found during bring-up, validation, and production phases of SoC programs. Design a complete and complex framework, system or product. Define processes for technical platforms, system specifications, input/output and working parameters for hardware and/or software compatibility. Conceive system interfaces and business application prototypes. Implement strategies on validation tools for current and next generation products. Identify, analyze and resolve system design weaknesses. Influence the shaping of future products by contributing to the framework (architecture) used across multiple products or systems. Provide multi-layered technical expertise for next generation CPU, GPU, and/or SoC product initiatives. Evaluate all aspects of the process flow from high-level designs to synthesis, place and route, and timing and power use. Work on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors. Under supervision, exercise limited judgment within defined company procedures and practices to select methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. Utilize knowledge of computers and electronics, including circuit boards, processors, chips, and electronic equipment, as well as knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles. Apply knowledge of engineering principles, best practices, and technologies to the design, development, and testing of various AMD products.

Qualifications: Degree required
Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or related field.
Qualifications: Amount and type of experience required: Three (3) years of experience in the job offered or closely related engineering role.
Alternate combination of education and experience: Employer will alternatively accept a bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or related field and five (5) years of experience in the job offered or closely related engineering role.
Specific skills required: The following skills are required:
Position requires the following experience.
Position requires two (2) years of experience in the following:
- Developing validation environments and test cases for semiconductor products;
- Performing hardware verification; C, C , or Python;
- Implementing and interfacing software within hardware; and
- Product development cycles within semiconductor industry.
Position requires one (1) year of experience in:
- Developing verification and validation plans for IPs and SoCs.
