THE ROLE: 

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our team as a Market Research Manager on the centralized Market Research team. In this strategic role, you will lead the development and execution of research programs that uncover critical insights about our customers, markets, and competitive landscape. As AMD continues its remarkable growth trajectory, data-driven decision-making is more vital than ever. You will play a key role in shaping go-to-market strategies, brand positioning, and product development by delivering actionable insights. This position will also drive research excellence across the organization—advancing methodologies, guiding strategic priorities, and fostering a culture of customer-centric innovation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Translate business needs into research strategy: Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to understand key business challenges and translate them into clear research objectives and methodologies that drive impactful decision-making.
  • Lead end-to-end research initiatives: Oversee the full research process—from problem definition and study design to execution, analysis, and delivery of insights—ensuring high quality and actionable results.
  • Manage agency partnerships: Lead and coordinate external research vendors, including scoping, budgeting, scheduling, and maintaining strong working relationships to ensure effective and timely project delivery.
  • Drive storytelling and insight activation: Craft compelling narratives and visualizations to deliver research findings, connecting the dots between data and business implications through strong storytelling.
  • Collaborate across functions: Navigate cross-functional dynamics with ease, ensuring research is integrated with broader business strategies and initiatives such as product development, brand positioning, customer experience, and go-to-market planning.

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCES:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Psychology, Sociology, Statistics, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Proven experience on the client side, ideally within large, global technology companies, with a strong understanding of fast-paced, innovation-driven environments.
  • Deep expertise in both quantitative and qualitative research, with a strong track record of leveraging insights to influence business and marketing strategies.
  • Advanced knowledge of marketing research methodologies and analytics, including segmentation, discrete choice modeling, driver analysis, and other sophisticated techniques.
  • Strong global project management capabilities, with demonstrated success in leading complex, multi-market research studies—from design to delivery—while independently developing reports that synthesize findings, visualize key data, and present strategic recommendations.
  • Extensive experience managing research vendors and stakeholder relationships, ensuring research initiatives meet quality standards, stay on track, and align with broader business goals. 
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to turn complex data into compelling narratives tailored to diverse audiences.
  • Demonstrated experience managing external vendors and building strong cross-functional stakeholder relationships.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to connect insights to business objectives and influence decision-making.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with shifting priorities, and capable of navigating ambiguity with confidence.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook), with the ability to build compelling presentations and manipulate data for analysis. Comfortable navigating technical tools and platforms, with strong overall digital fluency to adapt quickly to new technologies and systems.
