PMTS AI Infra Lead
THE ROLE:
AMD is looking for a strategic software engineering lead who can lead the development of the infrastructure stack that accelerates the development of our inference efforts across AMD. Our goal is to reduce the time to performance with inference on AMD accelerators. Our strategy focuses on empowering developers within AMD as well as in the larger AI ecosystem through the enablement of modern software development practices leveraging the scale of the open-source ecosystem.
THE PERSON:
The ideal candidate should be passionate about software engineering and possess leadership skills to drive sophisticated issues to resolution. Able to communicate effectively and work optimally with different teams across AMD.
The ideal candidate would be interested in not only contributing to the overall infrastructure stack but also contributing to our own new nascent inference engine helping improve the overall software stack both in a single node and multi node configuration
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Architect our overall k8s based distributed inference platform
- Contribute to major components of that infrastructure while also helping guide the ecosystem of open-source projects that we leverage as well as internal ones
- Helping grow the k8s technical domain knowledge within the team
- (optional) Contribute to adjacent open-source projects taking leadership roles within them as needed
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
- Experienced Lead
- Ability to write high quality code with a keen attention to detail
- Strong object-oriented programming background
- Prior leadership experience guiding teams to develop infrastructure and/or developer tooling
- Hands-on experience in building k8s platforms
- Effective communication and problem-solving skills
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
- Expertise in Cloud infrastructure
- Experience or leadership in developing in Open Source
- Prior architecture experience in building k8s-based platforms
