Position Summary
The Clinical Program Coordinator supports the planning, coordination, and execution of clinical operations programs across the organization. This role works collaboratively with clinical, administrative, and operational teams to ensure efficient workflows, high-quality patient care, and successful implementation of clinical initiatives. The Coordinator plays a key role in program tracking, process improvement, and communication across departments.
Key Responsibilities
1. Program Coordination & Implementation
- Coordinate daily operations of clinical programs and initiatives across departments (e.g., care management, utilization management, provider operations).
- Support implementation of new workflows, tools, and system enhancements to improve clinical operations.
- Track program timelines, deliverables, and outcomes to ensure goals are met.
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs), workflows, and training materials.
2. Clinical Operations Support
- Assist in optimizing clinical workflows to improve efficiency, turnaround times, and patient care delivery.
- Support coordination between clinical teams (e.g., nurses, care coordinators, providers) and operational departments.
- Monitor operational performance metrics (e.g., turnaround times, productivity, service levels).
- Identify process gaps and support continuous improvement initiatives.
3. Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Serve as a liaison between clinical teams, operations, IT, and external partners/vendors.
- Coordinate meetings, communications, and follow-ups across departments.
- Support onboarding and training of staff on clinical systems and workflows.
- Assist with change management efforts related to new processes or system implementations.
4. Data Tracking & Reporting
- Maintain program trackers, dashboards, and reports to monitor performance and outcomes.
- Analyze operational and clinical data to identify trends, issues, and opportunities.
- Prepare reports, summaries, and presentations for leadership review.
- Ensure accuracy and consistency of data across systems and reports.
5. Compliance & Quality Support
- Support adherence to organizational policies, regulatory requirements, and clinical standards.
- Assist in audit preparation and documentation review.
- Monitor compliance with internal workflows and external requirements (e.g., timeliness, documentation standards).
- Participate in quality improvement and performance improvement initiatives.
6. Administrative & Operational Support
- Coordinate scheduling, logistics, and documentation for clinical meetings and initiatives.
- Track action items and ensure timely follow-up on key projects.
- Provide general operational support to clinical leadership and program managers.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Public Health, or related field required
- Clinical background (LVN/LPN, RN, or allied health) preferred
Experience
- 2–5 years of experience in healthcare operations, clinical programs, or care coordination
- Experience in managed care, hospital, or outpatient clinical settings preferred
- Familiarity with clinical workflows, EMR systems, and healthcare operations
