Position Brief:

The Chatham Group: Advanced Materials and Technologies Recruiting Team is seeking highly qualified candidates for the role of Plant Quality Manager with a client in the Flexible Plastics and Packaging Manufacturing industry. This role will lead plant quality initiatives and operations by maintaining quality testing, KPI tracking and reporting, managing customer technical services, and driving site-wide continuous improvement projects. The ideal candidate will have at least 4 years of experience managing quality operations in a manufacturing environment and direct experience with plastics and/or flexible packaging is preferable. The ideal candidate will have a background in Chemistry or another science or engineering discipline and have a Six Sigma Green Belt certification.

Responsibilities:

• Lead Corrective and Preventative Action investigation (CAPA) for nonconforming products
• Lead customer complaint resolution initiatives and provide general customer technical services support
• Develop and maintain a site-wide quality testing and reporting program
• Perform line validation on production changeover or new product introduction
• Manage the Advanced Product Quality Planning Process (APQP)
• Train and oversee hourly employees such as planners and lab techs
• Lead internal and external quality audits

Qualifications:

• BS in Chemistry or other relevant science or engineering discipline
• Six Sigma Green Belt certification is highly preferable
• 4 years of experience with quality operations in a manufacturing industry, preferably plastics
• Demonstrable experience leading CAPA investigations and other root cause analyses
• Expertise in the management of QMS software
