Job Summary
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Hot Work Coordinator to oversee and manage all hot work activities across our facilities. This vital role ensures that all welding, cutting, grinding, and other fire-risk tasks are performed safely, in compliance with environmental and safety regulations. The Hot Work Coordinator will develop and implement safety protocols, conduct inspections, and coordinate with various teams to prevent fire hazards and environmental risks. Responsibilities
- Review and approve hot work permits, ensuring all safety measures are in place before work begins.
- Conduct thorough inspections of work sites to identify potential fire hazards or environmental risks related to hot work activities.
- Coordinate with maintenance, safety teams, and external contractors to schedule hot work activities while minimizing operational disruptions.
- Monitor ongoing hot work operations to ensure compliance with OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration), EPA (Environmental Protection Agency), and other relevant safety standards.
- Lead incident investigations related to hot work activities, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain detailed records of permits, inspections, incident reports, and training documentation related to hazardous materials regulations and environmental management systems.
- Provide training and development sessions on workplace safety regulations, hazard identification, emergency response procedures, and regulatory compliance standards in production environments.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of OSHA safety regulations, hazardous materials regulations, and environmental health standards.
- Experience with environmental management systems and regulatory/legal compliance standards in manufacturing settings.
- Excellent report writing skills for documenting inspections, incidents, and root cause analyses.
- Ability to perform first aid and CPR as needed to respond effectively during emergencies.
- Familiarity with EPA regulations, hazardous materials handling, and workplace safety protocols.
- Demonstrated expertise in occupational health, environmental health practices, and employee health regulatory compliance standards.
- Effective training & development skills to educate teams on safety procedures and regulatory requirements related to hot work activities.
