This hands-on role is responsible for leading a team of operators by coordinating production schedules, and ensuring products meet safety, quality, and delivery standards.
This position requires a strong background in Lean Manufacturing, the ability to lead continuous improvement initiatives, and effective collaboration with internal departments including Engineering, Procurement, Logistics, Value Stream leadership, and Senior Management.
Team Leads work routinely with tools such as Lean Manufacturing principles, Quality Management System tools, MRP systems (e.g., Syteline), and Microsoft Office software.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

- Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies to maintain a safe working environment for all employees. Participate in regular safety inspections and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Execution: Own and drive cell operations from start to finish, ensuring that all activities are completed efficiently, on schedule, and according to technical requirements. Escalate issues as needed to maintain workflow and quality.
- Schedule Management: Develop and manage daily and weekly schedules to meet production demand while optimizing labor, minimizing downtime, and balancing priorities across print, fabrication, laser, and elastomer operations.
- Quality Assurance: Follow all quality procedures to ensure products meet specified customer and AIS standards. Proactively address quality concerns and collaborate with cross-functional teams on resolution.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement improvements to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and optimize output using Lean tools and employee engagement.
- Equipment Maintenance: Collaborate with Facilities and Engineering to ensure equipment is maintained, serviced, and functioning reliably to support continuous operations.
- Training: Support onboarding and training efforts to ensure new and existing employees are properly trained in processes, safety procedures, and technical specifications. Assist in maintaining a cross-functional and flexible workforce.
- Lean Manufacturing: Lead and sustain Lean principles on the floor, including but not limited to 5S, work area organization, Visual Management, Driver Measure Boards (maintenance, reporting, escalation), Real-Time Problem Solving, and developing Standardized Work.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and timely documentation, including production reports, quality records, and Syteline transactions. Present daily team performance using key metrics such as Safety, 5S, People (training/skills matrix), Quality, Delivery, Cost, and OEE.
- 5 years of manufacturing experience, including team leadership preferred
- Background in print, fabrication, laser, or elastomer production highly desirable
- Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing tools and techniques
- Skilled in Microsoft Office and MRP systems (e.g., Syteline)
- Effective communicator with strong problem-solving and organizational skills
- High school diploma or GED required; AA/technical degree preferred
- Lift up to 25 lbs
- Stand or sit for extended periods
- Regular use of hands/fingers for repetitive tasks
- Work in manufacturing environment with varying conditions
