What are the responsibilities and job description for the Electrical Engineer position at Advanced Input Systems?
Looking for a talented and experienced Electrical Engineer to join our growing team at AIS. As an integral member of our cross-functional team, you'll be responsible for developing electro-mechanical HMI/X assemblies, virtual/augmented reality & electronic wearables, telerobotic controls and systems, night-vision systems, electric vehicle and marine interfaces, infection control products, medical and industrial display interfaces & control panels, and touchscreen displays.
You'll have the opportunity to work collaboratively with our Concurrent Engineering activities within the New Product Introduction and Pilot Production process. You'll apply design of experiments methods to technology discovery processes that drive innovation in our core competencies, define system architecture, product requirements, and design verification test plans, and design and develop analog and digital system hardware schematics and associated embedded firmware/software. Additionally, you'll collaborate on production test system development to support manufacturing readiness.
The ideal candidate will have:
- BS or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
- 5 years' experience
- Full lifecycle Product Development experience from inception through maturity is extremely important
- Ability to design for a broad range of HMI related technologies including touch interfaces, display/video signal chains, and communication protocols
- Ability to solve a wide range of technical problems & contribute creative ideas to improve development processes
- Self-starter, highly motivated, and extremely collaborative
- Comfortable with fast pace, constant change, and handling multiple projects
- Specific background with ARM M0-M7 microcontroller families
- SBC / SoM (i.mx6/i.mx8, A-series) development and integration
- Experience with C, C , .net, embedded OS (Linux, RTOS), Qt embedded, QML
- Experience with schematic capture (OrCAD/Allegro) and board bring-up
- USB, I2C, SPI, CANbus, BT, WiFi, Ethernet
- Touch Input Technologies (PCAP) and other sensing technologies
- Familiarity with FCC, TUV, EC, UL, RoHS, and other agency requirements
- Ability to lead projects and associated cross-functional teams from a Systems/Project Engineering perspective (Desired)
- Concept testing as it relates to primary market research and requirements management (Desired)
- Experience driving organizational change (Desired)
- Design for automation (Desired)
- Experience with Magnetic Field and IMU motion tracking, AR/VR systems, Control Systems, Mathematical Algorithm development, Physics, and Robotics (Desired)
