2nd Shift - M-TH 4:30pm - 3am
Reports to: 2nd Shift Leads
Summary: To assist in all aspects of material handling, including shipping, receiving, and handling of all material for jobs in process and completed jobs.
Material Handler Duties & Responsibilities includes the following:
1. Supports production throughout the shift, including but not limited to: Packing, counting, and moving materials, components, and finished goods.
2. Locates materials and supplies by pulling and verifying materials and supplies listed on production orders.
3. Providing materials to production team, loads machines as needed.
4. Assist in preparing items accurately for shipment.
5. Allocates raw material consumed in the ERP system.
6. Stores materials and supplies within the warehouse according to part number and/or description.
7. Assist in the disposition of waste materials.
8. Maintains shipping and receiving documentation in a neat and orderly manner.
9. Responsible for maintaining a clean and organized department.
10. Ensures safe operation of equipment used to move and transport materials to and from the storage
areas of the facility.
11. Assist with cycle counts of finished goods as needed.
12. Unloading steel trucks and loading outgoing shipment trucks as needed.
13. Signs for incoming and outgoing deliveries as needed.
14. Reports shipping and receiving details to the appropriate department as needed.
15. Assist in receiving and inspecting incoming shipments for discrepancies and damages as needed
16. Supports production running machines as needed.
17. Reports any discrepancies, employee issues, or injuries to appropriate level of management.
18. Perform all other duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Ability:
· Computer based knowledge
· Ability to read, understand and follow safety procedures
· Ability to read blueprints
· Certified to drive a tow motor
· Certified to use overhead crane
· Good Communication & Interpersonal skills
· Good Technical Communication
· Effective Time Management
· Excellent mathematical skills
· Ability to use hand and power tools
· Required to sit for long periods of time
· May be required to stand for long periods of time
· May involve some repetitive motions frequently
· Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
· May also engage in frequent and repetitive bending, lifting, stooping, squatting, pushing, and pulling of parts and part containers.
Experience loading/unloading sheet metal or large/heavy loads is a plus.
