Role Description The Physician Assistant will provide direct patient care in an on-site, full-time role based in Riverside, CA. Day-to-day responsibilities include obtaining patient histories, performing physical examinations, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, and assisting with the management of cardiovascular conditions under physician supervision. The role involves developing and updating treatment plans, prescribing medications as allowed by licensure, and providing patient education on disease management, medications, and lifestyle modifications. The Physician Assistant will collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other clinical staff to coordinate care, document encounters in the medical record, and support quality improvement initiatives. Additional duties may include assisting with procedures, responding to urgent patient concerns, and participating in case discussions and clinical meetings.

Qualifications

  • Current Physician Assistant license in the state of California and graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
  • NCCPA certification (or eligibility) and compliance with all applicable regulatory and credentialing requirements.
  • Clinical skills in history taking, physical examination, differential diagnosis, and development of treatment plans for adult patients.
  • Ability to order, interpret, and integrate laboratory tests, imaging, and other diagnostic studies into patient care.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for working effectively with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Competence in electronic health record documentation, basic computer skills, and attention to detail in charting and reporting.
  • Demonstrated commitment to patient-centered care, confidentiality, and professional ethics.
  • Experience in cardiology, internal medicine, or related specialties is preferred but not required; willingness to learn and adapt in a specialized cardiovascular setting.
