Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and changing bed linens
- Assist with resident recreation programs and prepare residents for meals and snacks
- Read and follow daily care plans, perform assigned restorative and rehabilitative procedures, and report changes in resident condition to the nurse in charge
- Document care provision on resident records/flowsheets as required and report accidents and incidents
- Provide nursing functions as directed by supervisor
- Maintain a safe, clean, and infection-free environment by following safety, sanitation, and infection control policies and procedures
- Understand and follow safety, sanitation, and infection control policies and procedures, including proper hand washing, wearing of masks and gloves, and reporting of violations to the supervisor
- Attend orientation and in-service as required by the state
- Complete all required online education as deemed necessary by the state and the facility
- Understand, comply with, and promote all rules regarding residents' rights
- Promote positive relationships with residents, visitors, and government regulators
- Assist with admission, transfer, and discharge of residents
- Attend and participate in training, educational activities, and staff meetings
- Assist with orientation and training of other staff
- Work in a climate-controlled and well-lighted environment
- Work in an office and throughout the building daily
- Ability to walk, reach, climb, bend, lift, grasp, fine hand coordination, push, and pull
- Ability to distinguish smells, tastes, and temperatures
- Ability to communicate with residents and employees
- Ability to understand and follow training
- Ability to instruct staff in service education
- Must be a Certified Nursing Aide in good standing with the State
- Must have ability to read, write, and follow oral and written directions at a level necessary to accomplish the job
- Must be able to relate positively and favorably to residents and families and to work cooperatively with other associates
- Must be capable of maintaining regular attendance
- Must be capable of performing the Essential Job Functions of this job, with or without reasonable accommodation
