Duties
- Administer anesthesia to patients undergoing various surgical, diagnostic, and therapeutic procedures, ensuring optimal pain management and patient safety
- Conduct comprehensive pre-anesthesia assessments, including evaluating vital signs, medical history, physiology, and anatomy knowledge to determine appropriate anesthesia plans
- Monitor patient vital signs continuously during procedures using advanced EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Epic and other EHR (Electronic Health Record) platforms
- Manage airway effectively through airway management techniques, ensuring unobstructed breathing throughout procedures
- Administer medications and injections accurately while adhering to HIPAA regulations and NCQA standards for patient privacy and quality care
- Document all medical interventions meticulously, including anesthesia administration, patient responses, and post-procedure care in medical documentation systems
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care, provide pain management solutions, and ensure compliance with hospital policies and safety protocols such as ICU standards
Experience
- Proven critical care experience in settings such as ICU or emergency departments with a strong understanding of physiology, anatomy, and pharmacology
- Prior experience working with diverse patient populations including geriatrics and pediatrics, demonstrating adaptability across age groups
- Extensive knowledge of anesthesiology practices, airway management techniques, medication administration, and patient monitoring protocols
- Familiarity with hospital environments utilizing EMR/EHR systems like Epic for documentation and communication purposes
- Strong background in nursing with hands-on experience in patient assessment, vital signs monitoring, and pain management strategies
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations, NCQA standards, and medical terminology necessary for maintaining compliance and delivering high-quality care
- Experience working within hospital or ICU settings is highly preferred to ensure seamless integration into clinical workflows
