Overview
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Manufacturing Engineer to lead and optimize manufacturing processes within our advanced production facility. This role requires a strong background in industrial engineering, process improvement, and mechanical design, with a focus on enhancing efficiency, quality, and safety across manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in CAD software, robotics, tooling, and continuous improvement methodologies to drive innovation and operational excellence in a dynamic environment.
SUMMARY
This position is responsible for engineering tasks relating to production parts after the New Product Development [NPD] process is complete. This position interacts with all production departments and associated customers to ensure a quality part is manufactured and delivered.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Project coordination involving specific parts, manufacturing processes, and overall cost savings;
Leads and directs Six Sigma projects aimed at reducing process variation;
Procures and integrates advanced automation and manufacturing technology
Assesses customer needs regarding priorities, deadlines, and quantities;
Interacts with customers, both internal to ARC and external to ARC
Analyze current part processing and initiates change to produce higher yields and efficiencies;
Interacts daily with manufacturing to quickly solve problems with production parts;
Designs and requisitions processing fixtures as needed;
Strong leadership skills for directing small team of engineers toward one common vision;
Maintains work instructions [procedures] to be used for part processing
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
May perform other engineering duties related to part or process development as assigned
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
May supervise a small team of engineers.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE and REQUIREMENTS
BS Mechanical Engineering, BS Plastics Engineering, or ten years' experience in a related field;
Manufacturing experience using Six Sigma tools and principles – Black Belt preferred;
3 – 5 years' experience working and / or managing a high tech manufacturing environment;
Solid vision for creating an advanced manufacturing facility;
Working knowledge of metal forming applications for finishing and secondary operations;
Working knowledge of production and safety procedures used in the production process;
Understanding and working knowledge of the Injection Molding process desired;
Effective oral and written communication skills;
Skill in developing secondary processes and equipment
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Willingness and ability to perform work which requires sitting or standing for long periods of time
Pay: $120, $140,000.00 per year
