What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Assistant position at Advanced Foot & Ankle Care Centers?
Advanced Foot and Ankle Care Centers is a growing company with 8 locations and 8 doctors looking for a Medical Assistant to serve our Columbia and Spring Hill office locations.
The ideal candidate is a go getter with proven MA experience and who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The medical assistant performs both administrative and clinical tasks to support the work of the physician as they provide care to patients in the clinics.
We are open Monday through Friday. Typical work hours are 7:45am- 5:00pm.
Medical Assistant Responsibilities:
- Greet patients and prepare them for examinations and interview patients about their medical histories, pain level, and/or progress being made between appointments.
- Assist physicians during patient examinations.
- Help patients understand medical treatments and therapies.
- Answer patient calls and act as a liaison between patients and physicians.
- Provide direction, support, and counseling regarding patient administration of medical therapies and medications.
- Perform administrative tasks relating to patient care such as, arranging for lab services, arranging for hospital admissions, and scheduling appointments.
- Enter and update patient records into EMR.
- Maintain and organize patient information on surgeries and all other patient information packets.
- Clean and prepare all patient rooms, sterilize equipment, and re-stock rooms daily.
- Check machines for proper functioning and clean machines according to the office procedures.

- Ability to commute to both our Columbia and Spring Hill offices.
Education and Experience Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 2 years of experience working as a medical assistant.
- Experience with Electronic Medical Record, experience with eClinical Works is a plus.
