We are currently looking for a skilled Mechanical Designer to support our Product Development - AiR department, designing filtration components and molds, creating prototypes, first article samples and 3-D printed parts for various automotive applications and platforms. The successful candidate will be able to shine in a VERY fast-paced development environment, work effectively as part of a team, and enjoys developing compelling new products. You'll be a solid communicator, and will find gratification in problem-solving and being first to market. You respond quickly to changing priorities, projects and tasks. Responsibilities and Job functions:
- Responsible for design of filters and molds using SolidWorks, including drawings, measurements, and testing.
- Creates prototypes, first article samples and 3D printed parts SolidWorks.
- Operates and maintains 3D printers (Bambu, K1 Max, K2 Plus, F270s, F370).
- Performs dust and flow testing to validate product performance.
- Builds and maintains Bills of Materials (BOMs) and technical documentation.
- Produces renderings for website content updates.
- Collaborates with manufacturing, production, marketing, and operations teams to launch new products.
- Supports production by solving design issues, improving molds, and creating replacement parts.
- Oversees product line maintenance and implementation of engineering changes.
Skills & Competencies Required:
- Must be a self-starter, self-motivating and driven to produce results; a strong closer who can work independently and get things done with a collaborative mindset to work well with others. MUST have a can-do, positive attitude!
- Excellent organizational and planning skills; ability to handle multiple projects & tasks to completion.
- Knowledge of mold design and manufacturing processes.
- Strong work ethic and dedication to excellence, with strong mechanical problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks with high comfort level for design in a 100% 3-D environment.
- Experience with 3D printing technologies and equipment maintenance.
- Superior written and verbal communication skills and intermediate to advanced acumen for MS Office environment.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3-5 years mechanical design experience in a product-design and manufacturing environment required.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver products from concept to market.
- Demonstrated mold design experience.
- Experience in automotive component design and manufacturing methods, a plus.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, a plus, but not required.
