Duties
- Assist in the installation of fire sprinkler systems according to blueprints, schematics, and NFPA codes & standards.
- Learn to read and interpret construction drawings, piping schematics, and technical manuals.
- Use hand tools, power tools, pipe threading equipment to install fire sprinkling systems.
- Participate in construction site activities such as pipe threading, assembly, and system testing while adhering to safety protocols.
- Develop mechanical knowledge through on-the-job training in fire sprinkler installation and maintenance procedures.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical school or prior construction experience is a plus.
- Strong interest in learning mechanical skills.
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to pipe fitting and system layout.
- Ability to read schematics and blueprints accurately is helpful.
- Mechanical aptitude with familiarity using hand tools and power tools.
- Willingness to work on construction sites with exposure to varying weather conditions.
- Good communication skills and ability to follow detailed instructions closely.
- Clean driving record is required.
Nice-to-have skills include experience with pipe threading, assembly work, maintenance tasks, and familiarity with schematics. Prior construction site experience or related technical training will be highly regarded.
