Ensures quality, cost effective service by establishing internal control procedures utilizing key metrics, forward thinking and common sense to continually improve operational services.

The function of the Service Manager is to ensure all AFPS Services are completed in a timely manner providing excellent communication with Coordinators, Service Technicians and Clients. Ensures quality, cost effective service by establishing internal control procedures utilizing key metrics, forward thinking and common sense to continually improve operational services.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Plan, manage, and direct the operations of Fire Extinguisher, P.E., Fire Alarm and Fire Sprinkler departments.
- Direct, coordinate, and supervise scheduling for the expeditious repair and renovation of all types of equipment and systems.
- Clear effective communications with Service Technicians, site managers and Service General Manager.
- Daily oversite of service jobs, scope of work, ensuring prompt and timely billing.
- Effectively control and manage cost controls through efficiency planning.
- Play an integral role in the development of future Lead Technicians and Helper/Apprentices.
- Perform and/or assist with service calls as needed.
- Inspect and report DOT or federal and state safety, health, and environmental compliance deficiencies to Service General Manager.
- Uphold Advanced Fire Protection Services Mission, Vision, and Values.
- All other duties as assigned.
- HS Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum three (3) years’ experience in related fire protection industry
- Minimum of one year of supervisory experience preferred.
- Acceptable background check and drug screening
- Valid Driver’s License
- Ability to be insured on company automobile insurance.
- Knowledge of NFPA codes and standards, all types of water-based systems, fire pumps, fire alarm systems.
- Excellent internal and external customer relation skills
- Excellent computer/software skills
- Proactive, strategic, and detail-oriented approaches with a strong commitment to quality, efficiency, and effectiveness.
- Ability to recommend, write and implement quality assurance enhancement plans.
- Intermediate knowledge of fire and building codes, OSHA, and other regulations pertaining to job
- Ability to understand flow calculations, basic algebra/geometry.
- Ability to communicate in English.
