Job Title:             Project Manager

Reports To:         Global Product Development Manager

Status:                  Full-Time/Exempt

 

Summary:  Oversees the design, development and implementation of new products and product improvements to deliver high quality, innovative products to our customers.

Supervisory Responsibilities: This job has no supervisory responsibilities. 

Minimum Hiring Rate: $110,000/year         Maximum Hiring Rate: $131,200/year

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:   

  1.    Establish and document the project management process as a part of the AFSI Product Development process.   
  2.    Interface with customer and others in the organization to jointly determine needs and solutions.
  3.    Ensure the timely and successful delivery of our solutions according to customer needs and objectives
  4.    Manage projects by developing plans, incorporating timelines, leading teams, and meeting budget considerations.
  5.    Ensure effective project management, including risk assessment, financial analysis, timeliness, and completion of all AFSI documented requirements.
  6.    Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.
  7.    Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation as required.
  8.    Conduct monthly report outs to customer on status of key projects. 
  9.    Interfaces with customer and internal resources to drive cost reduction through design changes. 
  10. Provide technical and process support to other functional areas, including Product Development and other AFSI facilities as appropriate.   
  11. Provide support to manufacturing to ensure product is fabricated and assembled based on the intended functionality of the design.
  12. Work in a safe manner, following all safety policies and procedures while keeping in mind other’s safety as well.
  13. Report any accidents and potentially unsafe conditions or unsafe acts immediately to appropriate supervisor.
  14. Other duties as assigned.

         While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to sit and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision and ability to adjust focus.

  • Education and/or Experience:

Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Mechanical, Industrial, or General Engineering, Automation or similar field; 3 - 7 years design experience as an Engineer; or the combination of education and experience. 3-5 years of Management experience preferred. Experience in Project Management and leadership with demonstrated record of technical contributions and program management and/or people leadership skills.

Strong Project Management Experience with proven success.

Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Leads and directs the work of others. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.

  • Language Skills:

Able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; write routine reports and correspondence; speak effectively before groups of employees; effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

  • Mathematical Skills:

Able to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry; Able to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

  • Reasoning Ability:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

  • Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have experience in Pro-Engineer, AutoCAD and SolidWorks Design software. Pro/Engineer 3D CAD modeling experience preferred. Microsoft Suite.  

  • Other Skills and Abilities: 

Is able to handle multiple assignments at once and communicate effectively within all levels of the organization.

         While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.

         International travel may be required.

Salary : $110,000 - $131,200
