Full-Time Optometric Technician
Private Optometry Practice | Two Locations
We are a growing, privately owned optometry practice with two locations, and we are looking for a friendly, dependable, and patient-focused Full-Time Optometric Technician to join our team.
The ideal candidate enjoys working with patients, is comfortable in a fast-paced clinical environment, and takes pride in providing compassionate, professional care. Previous ophthalmic or optometric experience is preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate.
Position Responsibilities
- Welcome and prepare patients for their eye examinations
- Obtain and document accurate medical and ocular histories
- Perform pre-testing and diagnostic testing as directed by the doctor
- Conduct testing such as visual acuity, tonometry, OCT, visual fields, retinal imaging, and other diagnostic procedures as appropriate
- Assist doctors with patient care and clinical procedures
- Prepare examination rooms and maintain clean, organized equipment
- Enter and update patient information accurately in the electronic medical record
- Educate patients on testing procedures and answer basic questions regarding their visit
- Assist with contact lens training and insertion/removal instruction as needed
- Communicate effectively with doctors, opticians, and other members of the team
- Help maintain efficient patient flow throughout the office
- Follow all practice protocols regarding patient care, infection control, and equipment
- Provide a welcoming and positive experience for every patient
Qualifications
- Previous optometric, ophthalmic, medical, or healthcare experience preferred
- Experience with pre-testing and diagnostic equipment is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and ability to obtain accurate measurements
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Friendly, professional, and compassionate demeanor
- Dependable and punctual
- Comfortable learning new technology and clinical procedures
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a busy environment
- Ability to work independently while also being a strong team player
- Willingness to work between our two practice locations as needed

Schedule
Full-Time Position
- Monday–Friday schedule with flexibility based on practice needs
- One evening shift per week
- Two Saturdays per month
- Ability to work between our two practice locations as needed
