Large ophthalmology practice in need of a motivated, self-starting Ophthalmic Assistant.

Our 14 doctor multi-specialty ophthalmology/optometry practice has 4 office locations across the Southeastern Massachusetts area. Our doctors and physicians provide full service medical and surgical care including routine eye care, retina, glaucoma, oculoplastics, pediatrics, and cornea/ external disease. We are also the premier destination for optical and contact lens service.
Experience at the Ophthalmic Assistant level is preferred. Certification by the Joint Commission on Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology (JCAHPO) at the Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) or Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) level is preferred, but we will assist you in attaining certification.
Compensation is commensurate with your experience and any certifications you hold.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience in Healthcare with direct patient contact is strongly preferred.
- Possession of professional communication skills necessary to successfully interact with patients and staff in addressing all patients’ needs.
- Maintaining a positive attitude and forge a good working relationship with other staff members and physicians.
- The ability to refrain from gossip.
- The ability to remain composed under stressful situations.
- The ability to cross train in other areas of the clinic after successful completion of technician training (such as but not limited to: ophthalmic imaging, medical scribing and assisting in office medical procedures).
- Pass a background and reference check.
- Reliable transportation for required independent travel to our satellite locations in Taunton, Fall River, and New Bedford.

Advanced Eye Centers is a Multi-Site Ophthalmology/Optometry practice with locations on the SouthCoast area of Massachusetts. Each office has a full service Medical/Surgical clinic and Optical Shop. We also own and operate the Advanced Eye Surgery Center. Our focus is on exceptional patient care and customer service. This focus has allowed us to grow steadily over the past ten years. We are a locally owned, staffed, and managed company.
