Advanced Exhaust Solutions is a leading manufacturer of exhaust silencers and systems, dedicated to delivering high-quality, innovative, and sustainable products. We are currently seeking a Level 2 Buyer to join our growing team. This role is critical to ensuring a reliable, cost-effective, and high-quality supply of materials that support both production and new product development.
Position Overview
The Level 2 Buyer is responsible for managing assigned commodities and suppliers while balancing cost efficiency, delivery performance, and quality. This role supports both ongoing production and new product introduction programs through strong supplier management, negotiation, and cross-functional collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full purchasing lifecycle for assigned commodities such as tubing, stampings, fasteners, catalytic substrates, and raw materials
- Issue, track, and maintain purchase orders based on production planning and MRP demand
- Negotiate pricing, lead times, and payment terms to achieve cost, quality, and delivery goals
- Partner with Engineering, Quality, and Production teams to ensure supplier compliance with technical and quality requirements
- Evaluate supplier quotations, perform cost analysis, and identify cost-reduction opportunities through value engineering and alternate sourcing
- Support prototype and production builds for new exhaust product launches
- Track and manage supplier performance metrics including cost, quality, delivery, and responsiveness
- Proactively identify and resolve potential supply shortages or bottlenecks
- Support supplier audits, PPAP processes, and change management activities
- Drive continuous improvement in purchasing and sourcing strategies
- Ensure compliance with company purchasing policies, ethical sourcing standards, and safety requirements
Qualifications & Experience
Education:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field preferred (or equivalent experience)
Experience:
- 3–5 years of purchasing or procurement experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience with metal fabrication, tubing, or component suppliers strongly preferred
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems (GSS preferred or similar)
- Strong understanding of purchasing processes, contracts, and cost analysis
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and manufacturing specifications
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
