Field Technician / Laborer Position Overview
We’re seeking a motivated Field Technician / Laborer who enjoys working outdoors and with their hands. Experience operating tractors or skid steers is a plus, but not required — we’re happy to train the right candidate.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to learn a valuable trade, gain hands-on field experience, and grow into a leadership position.
AES also offers a CDL Truck Driver Training Program, with eligible employees earning bonus payments totaling over $3,000 upon completion.
Field Technician / Laborer Responsibilities
- Install and maintain erosion control devices (e.g., silt fence, erosion control blankets, wattles, mulch bags, etc.)
- Operate equipment such as tractors, skid steers, and hand tools (shovels, staple guns, utility knives, etc.)
- Ensure work meets site specifications and safety standards
- Maintain a clean, organized job site and properly care for tools and materials
- Interact professionally with clients, contractors, and teammates
- Potentially lead a small crew as skills and experience grow
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Field Technician / Laborer Requirements
- Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to job sites
- Ability to occasionally work weekends or extended hours as needed
- Previous construction or fieldwork experience preferred (not required)
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test
Field Technician / Laborer Physical Requirements
- Full range of motion in upper and lower body
- Ability to walk, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, and lift up to 50 lbs
- Good vision (distance, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment)

- Monday to Friday
- 8-hour shifts
- Occasional weekend work as needed
