POSITION SUMMARY:
The IT Intern will support the Information Technology organization by assisting with day-to-day operational activities, system support, testing, security, and project-based work. This role provides hands-on experience across core IT functions while contributing to ongoing initiatives and continuous improvement efforts. The intern will work under the guidance of IT Managers, Project Managers, and Technical Leads.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Specific responsibilities will vary based on the assigned focus area (Testing, Security, or General IT).
Preferred:
As required by multiple state pay transparency laws, Advanced Energy provides a reasonable range of compensation for each job posting. Actual compensation is influenced by an array of factors including, but not limited to, skill set, level of experience, and specific office location. The range of starting pay for this role is $25 to $35 per hour (depending on experience & education level).

The IT Intern will support the Information Technology organization by assisting with day-to-day operational activities, system support, testing, security, and project-based work. RESPONSIBILITIES:
Specific responsibilities will vary based on the assigned focus area (Testing, Security, or General IT).
- Assist IT team members with assigned tasks, analysis, documentation, and operational support
- Participate in IT projects, system enhancements, and process improvement initiatives
- Support testing activities such as test case execution, defect tracking, and results documentation
- Assist with basic security-related tasks such as access reviews, documentation, compliance support, and control validation
- Provide first-line support assistance to IT teams and end users as directed
- Follow established IT processes, standards, and security policies
- Document procedures, findings, and recommendations clearly and accurately
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve issues and meet project timelines
- Perform additional duties as assigned by IT leadership or project teams
- Exposure to enterprise IT systems, tools, and methodologies
- Hands-on experience in software testing, cybersecurity, and/or IT operations
- Participation in real-world IT projects and initiatives
- Development of professional communication, problem-solving, and technical skills
- Location: Denver, Colorado
- Environment: Standard office or hybrid work environment, may support multiple IT teams or projects depending on assignment
- Strong interest in information technology and technology-enabled business processes
- Basic understanding of IT concepts, systems, or security principles
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
- Strong attention to detail and time management skills
Preferred:
- Coursework or experience related to software testing, quality assurance, or cybersecurity
- Familiarity with ticketing systems, testing tools, or basic scripting
- Interest in enterprise systems, business applications, or IT security
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or a related field
