POSITION: Sterilization Tech/Dental Chairside Assistant with Dental Specialty team
Position Title: Sterilization Assistant (no dental experience required but some relevant experience preferred like retail or experience in costumer service ) - (Gurnee, IL .) (Full Time) Established dental office is seeking an exceptional team member. Main initial duties include stocking, maintaining order in patient flow, patient room preparation and sterilization of instruments and cleaning areas. After initial duties mastered and consistent performance is achieved, clinical dental assistant training is awarded which includes taking radoigrapghs of all types, clincial chart documentation, and working chariside with a specialist.
Must bring joy and collaboration to be part of this team.
This position has the potential for experiencial chair-side dental assistant training with other train professionals and promotions for life long learners.
Hours Mon-Thursday 8-5:00 and Fridays 8-2 . one hour rotating lunches

POSITION SUMMARY
Under direct and indirect supervision, the dental assistant/sterilization tech will assist the Dentist in both administrative and clinical duties including: prepare lab, and treatment rooms for patient for procedure or exam, sterilize and disinfect instruments/treatment rooms, set up instrument trays, document and report effectively transitions, visits, be uplifting to patients and team and be willing to assist during dental procedures. To be trained as assistant, must learn all aspects of stocking, transitions and clinical terms to move to training in taking all kinds of radiographs and all aspects of assisting every doctor and team mate. Must be a good verbal and written communicator.
REQUIREMENTS

- Adhere to strict safety guidelines and procedures to OSHA and office standards.
- Adhere to office policy and procedures.
- Must be comfortable with the procedures and taking care of patients and working with others.
- Must be detail oriented in order to work efficiently in small spaces and maintain patient comfort.
- Must be flexible and understand that job duties may change from time to time and that this individual may be asked to assist in other areas of the office.
- Must excel in forward thinking in order to anticipate the needs of the doctor as well as the patient.
- Must demonstrate active listening by giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times. Must be able to communicate in English effectively with all patients and team.
- Must demonstrate good reading comprehension by understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work-related documents in English. Must be able to write documents and reports.
- Must demonstrate excellent communication skills by talking to others to convey information effectively.
- Supportive of changes during the day to accommodate patients and schedule needs.
QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or GED Certificate at Minimum , College degree preferred in any discipline.
- A diploma/ certificate from an approved dental assisting program or in dental hygiene or better are a plus but not necessary.
- Costumer service, technical work on team, community service or retail experience in the same position consecutively for 2 years is minimum for this position.
