JOB SUMMARY
This position is responsible for a variety of routine diagnostic radiology procedures to include X-ray and Fluoroscopy procedures (to include support for OR cases) of moderate complexity utilizing digital radiography and fluoroscopy techniques. This position provides direct assistance to physicians with all diagnostic and special X-ray procedures.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Performs special/invasive radiology procedures on patients ensuring compliance with all radiation safety procedures.
- Prepares patients for exam, explains procedure, administers contrast when necessary, positions patients for the exam, selects appropriate imaging techniques, and ensures technical quality of the images.
- Enters and monitors patient data.
- Performs quality assurance on radiology equipment. May assist with initial and renewal application for ACR and other accreditation.
- Identifies and reports any accidents, complaints or equipment malfunction to department management.
- Takes emergency call within the department.
- Ensures safe care to patients, staff and visitors; adheres to all hospital policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary specifications including time management, supply management, productivity and quality of service.
- Promotes individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education and skills competency; supports department-based goals which contribute to the success of the organization; serves as preceptor, mentor and resource to less experienced staff.
- Other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
- Graduate of an accredited or registered School of Radiology is required.
- Current registration with A.R.R.T. is required.
- Current certification with the Texas Department of Health (CMRT) is required.
- American Heart Association BLS certification is required.
- One year of previous experience in a hospital environment is preferred.
- This role requires you to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 based on local, state and /or federal law or regulations (unless a medical or religious exemption is approved).
