Position Summary: The Advanced Aesthetician is a licensed skincare professional responsible for delivering high-quality, personalized aesthetic treatments and procedures. This role requires advanced knowledge of skincare science, cutting-edge technologies, and a strong understanding of patient care. The Advanced Aesthetician performs a range of services, including but not limited to advanced facials, chemical peels, microdermabrasion, laser treatments, microneedling, and other non-invasive cosmetic procedures.
Additionally, the Advanced Aesthetician offers expert consultation, evaluates individual skin conditions, creates personalized treatment plans, and educates patients about proper skincare routines and products. This role requires a high level of professionalism, attention to detail, and a dedication to upholding the highest standards of safety, compliance, sanitation, and patient confidentiality. The ideal candidate is passionate about skincare, stays current with the latest trends and technologies in aesthetics, and excels at providing excellent customer service.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Cosmetic Appointments for patients, which may include:
Full Aesthetic Assessments, Education, and Consultation
- Chemical Peels & Advanced Facials, Microdermabrasion & Microneedling
Laser Treatments – including Laser Hair, Pigment Reduction, Skin Tightening, etc.
Conducts in-depth consultations with patients to assess skin care needs, discuss procedures, review expected outcomes, and address any concerns or complications.
- Accurately records all relevant patient information in the electronic medical record, including obtaining and documenting medical history, treatment details, before and after photos, and ensuring accuracy.
- Prepares patients for treatment by positioning necessary instruments and equipment, conducting preliminary interviews, and clearly explaining procedures and treatments to ensure patient understanding and comfort.
- Monitors each patient carefully, noting any important conditions, responses, or reactions during treatment in the electronic medical record.
- Appropriately code all services rendered.
- Provides support to healthcare providers in delivering skin care treatments, ensuring seamless coordination of patient care.
- Manages and recommends appropriate skin care and cosmetic products tailored to individual patient needs.
- Maintains accurate inventory of skincare products and provides regular reports on product usage and sales.
- Ensures the confidentiality and integrity of patient information in full compliance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
- Follows all established OSHA safety protocols and organizational policies, promoting a culture of quality, compliance, and exceptional customer service.
- Actively participates in departmental or unit-based quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and operational efficiency.
- Provides a welcoming and professional greeting and assists patients upon arrival.
- Facilitates patient check-out following treatment, ensuring accurate processing of services and payments, while providing personalized product recommendations and completing sales to support ongoing skin care regimens.
- Actively support practice social media and marketing initiatives, including:
- Generating content ideas for aesthetic treatments and skin care education.
- Assisting with before/after photos, treatment videos, and educational reels (HIPAA-compliant).
- Highlighting patient results, new treatments, seasonal specials, and skin care tips to grow online engagement.
- Collaborating with the marketing team to ensure posts align with the practice's brand, tone, and compliance requirements.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 2 years related experience in a medical setting: dermatology or plastic Surgery preferred
Education, Licensure & Certification Requirements
- Must be a graduate of an accredited program
- Licenses/Certifications: Washington State Master Aesthetician license (required); Idaho State Aesthetician license required for multi-site coverage.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Requirements
- Ability to communicate in an active multi-office environment
- Ability to efficiently operate all job-related office equipment
- Ability to follow or provide verbal and written instructions
- Basic to intermediate computer operation
- Detail-oriented, professional attitude, reliable
- Familiarity with EMR documentation and patient photography.
- Confidence in social media engagement and content creation for patient education, promotions, and practice growth.
