Are you currently completing your Medical Assistant coursework and seeking hands-on clinical experience? What You’ll Do:
- Onsite training, partnered with a trainer for duration of externship
- Assist with patient intake, triage, and vital signs
- Support providers during dermatologic exams and shadow minor procedures
- Prepare and clean exam rooms
- Learn to document patient information in Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
- Learn administrative task as it relates to clinic Receptionist and Medical Assistant task
- Learn dermatology-specific skills and patient education techniques
Requirements:
- Must be enrolled in a Medical Assistant program (with required externship hours)
- Strong communication and professionalism
- CPR certification preferred or ability to obtain
- Reliable transportation
Externship is unpaid, however, we believe this experience will grant you practical experience in a high-volume, fast pace dermatology practice to fulfill your externship requirements.
