Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Cabinetry Layout and Cost Estimating Specialist to join our team. In this pivotal role, you will leverage your expertise in estimating and cabinetry design to deliver potential layouts and accurate cost projections for custom cabinetry projects. Collaborate closely with the Design / Sales Manager to ensure quotes align with design intent and client budget. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute individually and learn from an experienced manager.
Duties
- Develop cabinetry layouts concepts using our design software, ensuring optimal space utilization and aesthetic appeal
- Prepare comprehensive cost estimates using the appropriate Excel worksheet and selecting the desired features and options.
- Collaborate closely with clients, suppliers, and project teams to negotiate pricing, scope adjustments, and project timelines
- Utilize Excel to generate bid proposals, and manage the cost of change orders
- Conduct site visits to gather measurements, assess existing conditions, and verify project feasibility on construction sites
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years proven experience in cabinetry layout / estimating with a strong focus on remodels
- Proficiency in reading blueprints for markup and document management
- Solid understanding of cabinet construction methods, materials, and layouts.
- Experience with CAD or design software is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of construction estimating techniques, cost control strategies, and pricing methodologies
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications accurately
- Effective communication skills for collaborating with clients, vendors, and internal teams
