Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Solar Installer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing solar energy systems on residential and commercial properties, ensuring safety, efficiency, and compliance with industry standards. This role requires a strong understanding of electrical systems, construction practices, and safety protocols to deliver high-quality solar solutions to our clients.
Duties
- Install solar panels, mounting systems, and related electrical components on rooftops and ground-mounted sites
- Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings to accurately execute installations
- Connect high voltage and low voltage electrical systems in accordance with NEC standards and safety regulations
- Use hand tools, power tools, roofing equipment, and forklifts to facilitate installation processes
- Perform fixture installation, wiring, grounding, and system testing to ensure proper operation
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently while maintaining safety standards
- Assist with site preparation, including roofing work and basic plumbing as needed for system integration
- Conduct inspections of installed systems to verify compliance with electrical codes and client specifications
Requirements
- Proven experience in electrical work, preferably as a commercial electrician or in construction site environments
- Knowledge of high voltage and low voltage electrical systems, schematics, and blueprint reading
- Familiarity with NEC regulations and safety protocols related to solar energy installations
- Experience working on roofing projects and using roofing tools or equipment
- Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, forklifts, and other construction equipment safely
- Strong understanding of electrical wiring, fixture installation, plumbing (a plus), and construction practices
- Construction site experience with the ability to work at heights on rooftops or ground-mounted systems
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail in complex installation scenarios
- Ability to lift 50 lbs., climb ladders up to 40ft, and work in attics, crawl spaces and varying weather conditions
- Pass a background check (no disqualifying criminal record)
- Valid California driver's license, reliable transportation, and clean driving record
