JOB TITLE: Solar Sales Development Representative
CAREER PATH: Solar Sales Development Representative → Solar Energy Consultant / Closer
LOCATION: North Hollywood, CA
EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Full-Time, W-2
PAY: $20–$22 per hour, plus performance incentives
ABOUT ACS
ACS (Advanced Conservation Systems) is a Southern California home-energy company with more than 40 years of local solar experience and over 10,000 installations. We help homeowners and businesses become more energy independent through solar, battery storage, HVAC, and energy-efficiency solutions.
Our team designs, installs, services, and supports long-term home-energy systems. We are looking for ambitious people who want to build a real sales career while representing an established company with a strong local reputation.
ABOUT THE ROLE
We are hiring competitive, driven college graduates for an entry-level solar sales career track.
You will begin as a Solar Sales Development Representative, where you will generate homeowner interest and book qualified solar consultations for ACS Solar Energy Consultants (“closers”). You will receive training in solar, sales, homeowner qualification, appointment setting, compliance, CRM management, and performance tracking.
This is a performance-based career path. Strong performers will have the opportunity to graduate into a Solar Energy Consultant role, where they will meet homeowners, present solar solutions, close deals, and earn uncapped commission income.
This is not a long-term appointment-setting position. It is the proving ground for people who want to become high-performing solar sales professionals.
CRM AND PERFORMANCE ACCOUNTABILITY
Both phases of this role require accurate and timely CRM management.
All team members must:
- Log homeowner conversations, appointments, follow-up activity, outcomes, notes, and next steps in the CRM.
- Keep records current and complete within 24 hours of each customer interaction.
- Maintain accurate lead status, appointment status, customer information, and follow-up dates.
- Participate in weekly KPI reviews and sales coaching with management.
- Use KPI results to improve performance, qualify for promotion, and earn access to additional opportunities.
Weekly KPIs may include activity volume, conversations, appointments booked, held appointments, show rate, appointment quality, sales presentations completed, close rate, self-generated leads, signed agreements, installs, cancellations, referrals, and customer experience.
PHASE 1: SOLAR SALES DEVELOPMENT REPRESENTATIVE
In your entry-level role, you will create opportunities for our Solar Energy Consultants by booking qualified homeowner appointments.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Generate homeowner interest through neighborhood outreach, referrals, community events, company-provided opportunities, and follow-up activity.
- Speak with homeowners using approved messaging and explain the purpose of a solar consultation.
- Identify qualified homeowners and schedule appointments with registered Solar Energy Consultants.
- Confirm appointments and improve appointment show rates.
- Maintain accurate CRM notes, customer information, appointment status, follow-up activity, and lead outcomes.
- Meet weekly activity, appointment, quality, and show-rate KPIs.
- Participate in daily training, role-play, product education, and sales coaching.
- Learn how to build a personal pipeline through referrals and self-generated opportunities.
- Represent ACS professionally and follow all consumer-protection and compliance standards.
COMPENSATION – PHASE 1
- $20–$22 per hour, based on experience.
- Performance incentives for qualified, held appointments.
- Monthly bonuses and accelerators based on appointment volume, show rate, quality, and consistency.
- Applicable local minimum-wage and overtime requirements will be followed.
- Strong performance creates the opportunity to graduate into the commission-led Solar Energy Consultant role.
PROMOTION PATH: SOLAR ENERGY CONSULTANT / CLOSER
Promotion is based on performance, not tenure.
Representatives may graduate into a Solar Energy Consultant role after demonstrating strong appointment production, professionalism, product knowledge, compliance, coachability, CRM discipline, and the ability to build homeowner trust. Candidates must also complete required training and obtain California Home Improvement Salesperson registration before soliciting, negotiating, or executing residential solar contracts.
As a Solar Energy Consultant, you will work directly with homeowners in the field to present solar and battery solutions, earn customer agreements, and manage your sales pipeline.
