What are the responsibilities and job description for the Research Associate - III position at Advanced Clinical?
We are currently searching for a skilled professional to join a well-known client’s team as a Research Associate III in Foster City, CA. The Research Associate III will support biologics development by executing cell culture experiments during pivotal (Phase II/III) and commercial stages. Their work will have a direct impact on process optimization, scalability, and successful biologics manufacturing, making this an exciting career opportunity.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Plan and execute laboratory experiments to support cell culture process optimization and characterization during pivotal development phases
• Support cell culture platform development and pilot plant operations as needed
• Maintain a state-of-the-art cell culture development laboratory, including equipment maintenance and consumables management
• Ensure accurate, high-quality, and timely documentation of experimental data in electronic laboratory notebooks (ELN)
• Collect, analyze, and visualize experimental data to support process understanding and decision-making
• Present results, interpret data, and draw conclusions to inform development strategies
• Contribute to continuous improvement of lab operations, equipment maintenance, and data handling best practices
• Adhere to departmental budgets, training requirements, safety protocols, and regulatory compliance standards
EXPERIENCE
Minimum of 2 years of relevant laboratory experience with a Bachelor’s degree, or 0 years with a Master’s degree
Hands-on experience with cell culture systems, including shake flasks, high-throughput bioreactors, bench-scale bioreactors, and pilot-scale cultures is required
Experience in biologics or bioprocess development preferred
Familiarity with lab automation, data management, and data analysis tools preferred
EDUCATION
Minimum of a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Bioengineering, Chemical Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, or a related discipline required
