Position Overview
ACT Biomed is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Electronics Technician Aide to support our biomedical equipment maintenance, testing, and repair operations.
This entry-level position assists senior biomedical technicians with routine service tasks, equipment setup, troubleshooting, and documentation. It is an excellent opportunity for someone beginning a career in electronics, biomedical equipment technology, or engineering support.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist technicians with diagnosing and repairing electronic and biomedical equipment
- Support installation, testing, and calibration of biomedical equipment and electronic assemblies
- Perform basic inspection and preventive maintenance tasks
- Prepare tools, materials, and workstations for repairs and service projects
- Assist with assembling wiring harnesses, cables, and circuit boards under supervision
- Use basic electronic test equipment such as multimeters, power supplies, and measurement tools
- Maintain organized work areas, tools, and parts inventory
- Document work performed and update service records or maintenance logs
- Follow all safety procedures and company policies
- Occasionally accompany technicians on service visits to healthcare facilities
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Basic understanding of computers, electronics, circuits, or electrical systems
- Ability to read simple schematics or diagrams (or willingness to learn)
- Comfortable using hand tools and basic electronic test equipment
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
- Good communication and teamwork skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Enrollment in or completion of an Electronics Technology, Electrical Technology, or Biomedical Equipment Technology program
- Hands-on experience from school, hobby projects, internships, or previous work
- Interest in healthcare technology or medical equipment repair
- Familiarity with workplace safety standards
Working Conditions
- On-site role working with electronic and biomedical equipment
- May involve sitting, standing, bending, and handling small components
- Occasional lifting of equipment up to 30–40 lbs
