We’re looking for an experienced Full-Charge Bookkeeper who enjoys solving complex accounting problems and wants to work directly alongside the owner on challenging, rewarding client engagements.

Position Summary
As our Assistant Bookkeeper, you will work directly with the owner to manage a variety of accounting engagements ranging from daily bookkeeping and outsourced CFO support to complex financial reconstruction and Chapter 11 bankruptcy projects.
This is not a data entry position. We’re looking for someone who understands accounting at a deeper level, can think critically, identify problems, and help develop solutions for clients facing unique financial challenges.
Primary Responsibilities
Complex Accounting & Special Projects
Assist with Chapter 11 bankruptcy accounting engagements
Reconstruct multiple years of incomplete or inaccurate accounting records
Perform forensic bookkeeping research and account analysis
Prepare schedules and supporting documentation for attorneys, trustees, and CPAs
Analyze complex general ledger activity and identify discrepancies
Research and resolve historical accounting issues
Assist with financial reporting and special accounting projects
Full-Charge Bookkeeping
Maintain complete accounting records from transaction entry through financial statements
Perform monthly bank, credit card, and loan reconciliations
Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable
Record journal entries and month-end adjustments
Complete month-end and year-end close procedures
Prepare accurate financial statements
Maintain organized accounting records and supporting documentation
CFO Support
Support the owner in providing outsourced CFO services to multiple clients
Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow reporting
Prepare executive-level financial reports
Monitor financial performance and identify trends
Maintain workpapers and financial analysis schedules
Client Management
Communicate professionally with business owners and client contacts
Request and organize financial documentation
Manage multiple client deadlines simultaneously
Ensure work is completed accurately and on schedule
Maintain strict confidentiality of client information
Required Qualifications
Minimum 5 years of Full-Charge Bookkeeping experience
Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Online
Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Experience preparing complete financial statements
Extensive balance sheet reconciliation experience
Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas and data analysis
Ability to independently research and resolve accounting discrepancies
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
High level of professionalism, integrity, and attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Chapter 11 bankruptcy accounting
Experience with bookkeeping cleanup, forensic accounting, or multi-year accounting restoration projects
Public accounting or outsourced accounting firm experience
Experience supporting multiple clients simultaneously
Knowledge of construction accounting, including job costing and work-in-progress (WIP) reporting
Experience processing prevailing wage payroll and certified payroll reporting is a strong plus
Experience with Bill.com, Gusto, Ramp, or similar accounting technology
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field (preferred but not required with equivalent experience)
