Cribl Data Modeling Security Engineer (100% Remote)

AAC is seeking an experienced Cribl Data Modeling Security Engineer to support enterprise cybersecurity initiatives with a primary focus on Cribl data modeling and log ingestion pipelines.

This role will work directly with enterprise security architects and engineers to design, implement, and optimize security data pipelines that support critical cybersecurity operations across a large-scale government environment. The successful candidate will bring deep experience in security data engineering, log management, system integration, and information security architecture. Primary Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, maintain, and optimize Cribl data models and log ingestion pipelines
• Support planning, deployment, administration, and operational management of enterprise security platforms
• Assist with SIEM architecture, configuration, integration, and operational support
• Design and configure Linux-based security sensors and endpoint monitoring solutions
• Collaborate with security architects on enterprise security design and implementation initiatives
• Support security monitoring, event management, log analysis, and reporting functions

Secondary Responsibilities:

• Support implementation and administration of:
• • Extended Detection and Response (XDR) platforms
  • Vulnerability Management solutions
  • Data Loss Prevention (DLP) technologies
  • Security Awareness and Training platforms
• Develop automation and integrations using Python, Bash, and related scripting tools
• Design and deploy security controls to mitigate evolving cyber threats
• Validate the effectiveness of security controls and recommend improvements
• Participate in incident detection and response activities
• Create technical documentation, operational procedures, and implementation guides
• Perform additional cybersecurity engineering and architecture duties as assigned

Required Experience:

• Strong hands-on experience with Cribl data modeling and log pipeline design and implementation
• Experience supporting enterprise-scale cybersecurity environments
• Strong understanding of enterprise security architecture and engineering principles
• Experience implementing and supporting one or more of the following:
• • SIEM platforms
  • XDR solutions
  • Vulnerability management tools
  • DLP technologies
  • Endpoint security platforms
• Experience developing automation using Python, Bash, or similar scripting languages
• Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices, threat detection methodologies, and defensive security strategies
• Experience with Linux and Windows operating systems, including security hardening and configuration
• Understanding of networking concepts, security protocols, and secure system design

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Information Security, Computer Science, or a related field OR
• Eight (8) years of relevant professional experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree

Candidates should possess:

• Minimum five (5) years of experience supporting large IT environments and/or enterprise system deployments

Preferred Qualifications:

• Extensive hands-on Cribl data modeling experience
• SIEM administration, analysis, and reporting expertise
• Experience deploying and managing Linux-based security sensors
• Familiarity with regulatory and security frameworks such as

  • CJIS Security Policy
  • IRS Publication 1075
  • CMS MARS-E

Preferred Certifications:

• CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional)
• CompTIA Security
