Position Summary

This position is a trainee role on a progression career path to a Machinist. The employee will contribute to lean initiatives to increase productivity and reduce costs. Works with general guidance in a team environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Learn to operate machines.
• Learn proper usage of taking measurements with gage.
• Basic set ups on about 1- 2 machines.
• Observes all company policies and procedures, including safety rules, and maintains a clean and orderly work area.
  
  

Required Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred
• Successfully complete Math proficiency assessment
  
  

Key Competencies

• Has working knowledge of machine shop mathematics, may include trigonometry.
• Effectively applies lean initiatives.
• Observes all company policies and procedures, including safety rules, and maintains a clean and orderly work area.
• Must demonstrate manual dexterity and a willingness to learn.
• Demonstrates effective verbal and written skills along with the ability to work in a team environment.

While performing the duties of this job, the team member is required to walk, stand, stoop, bend, crawl, climb and sit for extended periods of time. The team member is required to demonstrate manual dexterity and use hands to operate machinery.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision. Also expected of the team member is regular attendance and the ability to work cooperatively and professionally with others. May be required to lift up to 50 lbs.
