ABOUT THE ROLE
AAT is seeking a safety-minded and detail-oriented Shop Floor Technician to join our Houston manufacturing team. This role is responsible for supporting the fabrication, finishing, and preparation of large-scale acrylic structures. The ideal candidate is dependable, eager to learn, and comfortable working in a hands-on production environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform material handling, including movement and preparation of acrylic components
- Assist with fabrication, polishing, and finishing of acrylic structures
- Operate or learn to operate shop equipment such as saws, routers, and polishing tools
- Support packaging and preparation of finished products for shipment
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Follow all company safety procedures and guidelines
- Collaborate with team members to meet production deadlines and quality standards
- Participate in cross-training on equipment such as overhead cranes, forklifts, and beam saws
Job Requirements
- Basic knowledge of construction or manufacturing environments
- Experience using power tools (drills, saws, routers, tape measures)
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work effectively in a team setting
- Willingness to learn new skills and take on hands-on challenges
- Ability to follow instructions and safety protocols
- Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening
- Participation in ongoing or post-incident drug and alcohol testing may be required in accordance with company policy and applicable laws
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and/or pull up to 50 lbs
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods
- Comfortable working in a manufacturing/shop environment with noise, dust, and machinery
- Ability to safely operate or learn to operate industrial equipment
Education and/or Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Basic math skills required
- Prior experience in construction, manufacturing, or manual labor preferred but not required
Work Schedule
- Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM
- Overtime may be required based on production needs, including occasional Weekends
