CONCRETE TESING TECHNICIAN - QC
FLSA Status: Non-exempt
JOB SUMMARY: To assist within Advance Ready Mix where needed, specifically focusing on quality control, but could assist with production, dispatch, operations, accounting, IT and other areas if needed.
REPORTS TO: Products Manager
DIRECT REPORTS: None
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Consult with products manager to decide which products need to be tested and jobsites visited.
· Create test cylinders, cure them, record all data, and keep a schedule of when to break the cylinders.
· Break test cylinders in the break machine and record results.
· Perform air, slump, moisture, and yield tests on both outgoing loads at our plants and in the field.
· Quickly conduct additional testing if needed and resolve unforeseen issues arise.
· Build relationships with the customers and testing labs working in the field.
· Gather data and test results and complete all appropriate paperwork.
· Personal protective equipment and proper attire must be worn in all designated areas.
· This position will create the opportunity to work in many different departments and perform a wide variety of tasks. Travel to different batch plants and jobsites is expected.
· Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
· High school diploma or equivalent education.
· College degree preferred.
· Continuing education and potential to obtain a commercial driver's license (CDL-B)

- Ability to work in a team environment.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Monday – Friday work week.
- Night, Weekend and Holiday work required when needed.
- Lab environment – inside work
- Outside work
- Continuous exposure to heat or cold, loud noise, trucks, heavy equipment, and environmental elements such as chemicals, vibrations, dirt, or dust.
Physical Demands
- Frequent standing, walking on uneven surfaces, and climbing up and down ladders/catwalks and sitting.
- Some lifting may be required, up to 75 pounds.
· Must be able to climb, kneel, bend, and crawl.
