Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Certified Orthotist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in orthotic device fabrication, patient care, and clinical assessment, with a focus on delivering exceptional patient service. As a Certified Orthotist, you will be responsible for evaluating patients’ needs, designing and fitting custom orthoses, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to improve mobility and quality of life. Duties

  • Conduct comprehensive physical examinations and assessments to determine patients’ orthotic needs, considering factors such as physiology, anatomy, and medical history.
  • Design, fabricate, and fit custom orthotic devices tailored to individual patient requirements, ensuring optimal functionality and comfort.
  • Collaborate closely with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to develop personalized treatment plans.
  • Educate patients on the proper use, care, and maintenance of their orthoses to promote compliance and maximize benefits.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of patient evaluations, treatment plans, and device modifications in accordance with medical terminology standards.
  • Apply aseptic techniques during device fabrication and fitting procedures to uphold safety standards.
  • Stay current with advancements in orthotic technology and techniques through ongoing professional development.

Experience

  • Certification as an Orthotist from an accredited program or professional body is required.
  • Prior post-residency experience in orthotics or related clinical settings is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated expertise in pediatrics is preferred, with the ability to address the unique needs of pediatric patients effectively.
  • Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to orthotic practice.
  • Proven ability to perform detailed physical examinations and interpret clinical findings accurately.
  • Experience working within multidisciplinary teams to coordinate comprehensive patient care plans.
