Electronic Repair Technician

JOB SUMMARY:

Troubleshoot, repair, test, and calibrate various Mining Industry equipment, such as communications equipment, ground monitors, power supplies, battery chargers, welding equipment and various electronic and electro-mechanical equipment. Looking for experienced technician who has knowledge and hands on experience with Mining related electronic and electrical equipment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Trouble shoot, order parts, estimate cost of repair, and perform repairs.
• Perform repairs of equipment utilizing vendor technical manuals and wiring schematics. Must be able to perform repairs in the shop environment.
• Communicate by phone and in person with vendors, customers, sales staff, and others, providing information on cost estimates, repair times, order parts, etc.
• Maintain documentation of time and supplies to accurately bill customers
• Perform research to inquiries as necessary
• Practice safe behaviors and good shop keeping. Keep work areas clean and hazard-free
• Perform documented Quality Review Process to insure repaired equipment will meet customer expectations.
• Maintain customer focus for timely, quality, and cost-effective repairs.
• Demonstrate teamwork working with sales reps, billing clerks, shipping and receiving personnel.
• Successfully complete training and achieve certifications for various types of equipment repairs.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Operate a forklift, pallet jack and other warehouse equipment
• Back up as needed and where qualified as directed by immediate supervisor or higher-level management. Will be cross-trained on repairs of other electrical equipment.
• Assist with inventory, general housekeeping, help with customers when necessary and other duties and projects as assigned

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Associate Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology is required
• Prefer GPA of 3.0 or higher
• Experience working with Mining Industry equipment
• Working knowledge of mechanics and electricity, as well as troubleshooting, reading electrical diagrams, and testing electrical equipment
• Ability to follow instructions and procedures properly
• Computer experience with Microsoft windows products like Excel, Word, Access, Outlook. Experience with loading software.
• Must possess a valid Pennsylvania driver’s license

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

• Ability to read and comprehend vendor repair manual instructions
• Ability to lift 25-50 lbs.
• Ability to perform work during prolonged sitting and standing up to 8 hours; Frequent bending, stooping, crouching, reaching, grasping, feeling and repetitive motion also required
• Must be proficient in English and have excellent oral, written, and communication/presentation skills
• Must have excellent teamwork skills
• Must be able to pass pre-employment drug test and operate in a drug- and alcohol-free workplace

WORK SCHEDULE

Full Time, 40 hours per week typically 7:00 am – 3:30 pm. Opportunities for overtime work.
