Primary Purpose
Lead and facilitate full time sanitation crew and participates in the sanitation of the distribution facility
Duties And Responsibilities
- Act for department supervisor in his/her absence
- Help to plan, organize, delegate and follow-up with associate's job duties to be completed
- Complete required paperwork in a timely manner
- Ensure that all areas of responsibility are running in a safe, orderly, effective manner
- Assist the supervisor with interviewing and hiring new associates
- Perform own sanitation tasks while ensuring that all crew tasks are accomplished to standard
- Train other sanitation associates and or sub-contracted crew on sanitation tasks
- Ensure that the crew understands and follows safe work practices
- Responsible for OSHA Compliance and Regulations
- Maintain sanitation supply inventory
- Provide research and advises management on equipment and supply purchases
- Perform minor maintenance and adjustments on cleaning equipment
- Make recommendations for modifications to procedures or processes impacting their work group or
- Ensure compliance with Delhaize America standards in the areas of accuracy, safety and productivit
- Ability to meet production standards set by the company
- Ability to read and understand written and numeric product identifiers
- Must be able to work needed schedule to perform assigned duties
- Able to use a personal computer for data entry and research purposes
- Highly motivated self-starter and team player with strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritize
Physical Requirements
- Reach, stoop, bend and lift up to and including 60 lbs.

- High School Education
- Certified on a powered industrial equipment where applicable
- Familiarity/experience in a distribution environment preferred
- Excellent customer service, communication, verbal and written skills
- Demonstrate effective and successful leadership skills
