Duties
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting to promote independence and comfort
- Provide medication administration following prescribed protocols and monitor vital signs to ensure health and safety
- Support residents with memory care needs, including dementia and Alzheimer’s care, utilizing specialized techniques for behavior management and safety
- Operate assistive devices to safely transfer residents while maintaining proper body mechanics
- Prepare nutritious meals in accordance with dietary guidelines and assist with feeding as needed
- Maintain accurate documentation for resident progress, medication logs, and incident reports
- Engage residents in social activities, recreational outings, and community events to foster socialization and emotional well-being
- Perform light cleaning duties within the resident’s living space to ensure a safe and hygienic environment
- Drive residents to appointments or community outings using company vehicles when required
- Collaborate with team members, healthcare professionals, families, and social workers to develop personalized care plans tailored to each individual’s needs
Experience
- Prior experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or personal care homes is highly preferred
- Demonstrated knowledge of working with individuals with developmental disabilities or disabilities-related care needs
- Experience in dementia or Alzheimer’s care, including behavior management strategies (preferred not a necessity)
- Familiarity with vital signs monitoring, medication administration, and basic first aid procedures
- Proven ability to handle long-term care responsibilities with compassion and professionalism
- Valid driver’s license and safe driving record for transportation duties are required
- Previous caregiving experience in home & community care settings or group homes is beneficial
