A Behavioral Health Agency is looking for a full-time Billing Specialist. Please see qualifications and responsibilites.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Must have knowledge of Medicaid, Medicare and commercial insurance
- Previous experience with Behavioral Health Claims preferred
- Must be well organized and detail-oriented
- Knowledge of medical billing/collection practices, posting, claim submission, managing account payments
- Knowledge of basic medical coding
- Skills in answering a telephone in a pleasant and helpful manner and ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees and the public
- Maintain the strictest confidentiality; adheres to all HIPAA guidelines/regulations
- Certified Professional Biller training and/or certification preferred
- 3-4 years of medical billing experience in an ambulatory care setting is preferred.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) and billing software. Will be required to learn the agency's billing software.
Responsibilities:
Collecting, posting and managing account payments
Submitting claims and following up with insurance companies
Post payments applications and follow up with denials and appeals
Submitting third party claims, electronic and paper claims as necessary
Report weekly update on billing and collection status to the supervisor
Working Hours:
Monday- Friday 9am-5pm
