What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mental Health Counselor position at Adult behavioral health?
_ We are looking for a _Full-Time Mental Health Counselor
Summary of Position:
The mental Health Counselor will provide:(1) Individual & Group counseling to program clients; and (2) will provide weekly progress notes on each client on his/her caseload and make sure that clients wellness and recovery goals, as well as all appropriate treatment goals are met.
Minimum Requirements and Qualification:
Education and /or Experience:
- Possess a minimum of BA degree/ masters or and Associate is preferable, in the field of Human Services or related course of study; AA in Human Services or related field plus a minimum of 2 years experience in lieu of higher degree.
- Experience working with individual counseling, teaching advocating, and mentoring are all a plus.
Work Experience:
- Prior Experience with individuals with mental illness, co-occurring disorders within urban communities is preferred.
Technical Skills:
- Must be able to read and write English and follow directions.
- Must have the ability to demonstrate patience, tact, enthusiasm, and show professionalism.
- Must be culturally sensitive and show a proper attitude towards our clients.
- Bilingual skills are preferred.
Licensure:
- Applicable for those candidates that posse a clinical degree.
