ADTEK Engineers is a leader in cold-formed steel design and we are looking for a Team Leader for our Fairfax, VA location. The Team Leader is responsible for the entire project cycle to include design, development, and project completion. The Team Leader will provide supervision to a team of project managers, engineers and CAD Designers and Technicians.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Prepare engineering analysis of projects to include: complete design and calculation
- Conduct surveys to gather field data as necessary
- Prepare field reports
- Prepare and interpret blueprints, schematic drawings, layouts and other visual aids
- Manage construction document printing process
- Manage proposal process from initial bid to completion of project
- Study contracts and scope of work for own projects
- Deliver projects within established time periods
- Resolve all problems: project and non-project
- Review and approve proposed changes to engineering standards, policies, or details
- Review development plans for compliance with adopted engineering standards and good engineering practices
- Coordinate the activities of your junior staff
- QC projects by junior members of your team
- Enforce methods on projects you manage
- Manage production staff working on your projects to effectively achieve project goals
- Ensure project remains within budget and each phase is completed on-time
- Lead kick-off meetings with assigned staff members
- Review project progress reports and provide financial assessment of all projects in team
- Select appropriate standard details for projects
- Markup standard details for projects
- Create custom details for projects as required
- Layout, and Redline overall drawing sets for complex projects
- Ensure that quality control procedures are maintained within your team
- Develop repeat work with existing clients
- Develop new clients
- Negotiate fees directly with clients
- Respond to comments by clients or outside reviewing entity
- Oversee multiple projects and clients simultaneously
- Initiate contact for additional service work on your projects
- Coordinate with other disciplines as needed
- Create new standard details
- Manage and oversee monthly billings and coordinate with corporate accounting staff
- Manage HR issues for team members
- Assist in collections issues
- Coordinate with corporate marketing staff
- Other duties as assigned
- Conduct annual reviews for your individual team members
- Request and defend the need for additional staff members
- Be responsible for hiring and firing of team members
- Maintain team's project schedule and billing goals
- Coordinate in-house completion schedule with clients' expected schedule
- Handle financial management for team; maintain team profitability
- 8 years overall structural design experience is required; 5 must be in cold-form steel
- 4 years project management experience required
- 4 years staff management required
- The experience above may be concurrent. A U.S. PE license is required.
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field from an accredited college or university is required
