Sr Technical SEO Coordinator (Contract Role)

We are seeking this support role for a licensed substance use and mental health treatment program. We are launching a high-priority SEO/GEO/AEO sprint project and need a Senior Technical SEO Specialist for a 1–2 month contract to help execute a detailed onsite and technical SEO roadmap for our site and a smaller sister site.

This role requires an expert-level SEO practitioner with hands-on experience implementing complex technical SEO, entity SEO, and AI search optimization. We already have a comprehensive roadmap outlining all tasks; your job is to execute with precision, speed, and accuracy.

*Role Overview*

You will implement a large portion of the onsite technical SEO tasks defined in our internal strategy report, including:

*Technical SEO*

Complete technical audit fixes across indexing, crawlability, sitemap logic, robots, canonicalization, and site architecture.

Improve Core Web Vitals (LCP, CLS, INP) and implement performance optimizations (preloading, JS deferment, reducing unused CSS, WebP compression, etc.).

Resolve redirect chains, soft 404s, broken links, and internal linking issues.

Optimize URL structure, breadcrumb hierarchy, pagination, and crawl depth.

Ensure clean HTML structure and remove bloat from WordPress templates.

*Structured Data & Entity SEO*

Build and deploy advanced schema (Organization, LocalBusiness/MedicalOrganization, Service, MedicalCondition, MedicalTherapy/Procedure, FAQ, HowTo).

Implement entity relationships, SameAs links, clinician schema, treatment definitions, and structured attributes for all services.

Ensure all markup validates with zero critical errors.

Site Architecture & On-Page Optimization

Implement silo-based architecture across addiction, mental health, dual diagnosis, levels of care, insurance, and GEO pages.

Ensure correct H1/H2/H3 hierarchy, jump links, TOCs, and semantic sectioning.

Resolve keyword cannibalization, duplicates, thin content signals, and outdated page templates.

Strengthen internal linking between pillars, supporting clusters, and GEO pages.

*AI Search Optimization (AEO)*

Structure pages for AI Overviews and answer engines (ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity).

Add structured definitions, symptoms, treatment steps, risk/safety notes, and fact blocks.

Ensure entity consistency across schema and content.

Improve clarity, retrieval signaling, and summarization-readiness.

*Required Expertise*

Apply only if you meet all requirements:

5 years of hands-on technical SEO execution (not just audits).

Proven ability to fix CWV issues on WordPress sites, especially WP Engine environments.

Strong experience restructuring site architecture with silo logic.

Expert-level schema markup skills (JSON-LD created manually).

Experience with entity SEO and AI search optimization.

Deep knowledge of indexing behavior, crawl management, and canonical strategy.

Strong understanding of healthcare/local service SEO.

Proficient with GSC, GA, Screaming Frog, Lighthouse, Ahrefs/SEMrush, WP tools, and schema validators.

Nice to Have

Experience with behavioral health, medical, or YMYL websites.

Familiarity with HIPAA-safe SEO execution.

CRO/UX experience to improve engagement signals.

Contract Details

Duration: 1–2 months

Hours: 20–40 hours per week

Start: Immediate

You must work from our predefined roadmap and hit weekly milestones.

Rate of Compensation
