JOB TITLE: Contracts Manager

LOCATION: ADS Headquarters (Virginia Beach, VA) NOT REMOTE

RESPONSIBILITIES

• • Establish strong working relationships with relevant contracting officers and contract specialists
  • Stay current with contract specifications and commercial procurement changes.
  • Be the in-house expert on the scope of items allowed through assigned contract(s) and current regulations on proving prices fair and reasonable.
  • Receive and submit all RFQ requests by the required deadline
  • As appropriate maintain tracking database of bids and all lead times associated with responses to bids
  • Maintain database of all bids won and lost with item and pricing information
  • Work closely with Sales to get new items or products pre-approved to be sold through the assigned contract(s)
  • Day-to-day contract administration duties such as facilitating and negotiating modifications while updating sales with the changes.
  • Answer inquiries for expedited shipping, order status, and tracking
  • Request modifications for delinquent lines to ensure contractual required on-time delivery is met
  • Manage all reports and prepare contract briefs for corporate management team.
  • Coordinate with accounting to resolve any payment or billing issues)
  • Travel to Contracting Offices for in-person meetings as needed (minimal)
  • Assist in training new sales personnel regarding the respective contracts as well as the sales team with pertinent contract updates.
  • Experience working with highly detailed information in a fast-paced environment – must be able to provide accuracy while working under tight deadlines
  • Must be able to convey ideas clearly and professionally in both written and spoken communications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor's Degree required
• 2-3 years’ experience in Government contracts
• 2-3 years’ experience in Microsoft Office environment: Outlook, Excel and Word
• STRONG detail orientation
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for negotiating with DLA  
• Demonstrated self-starter with the ability to work accurately and meet deadlines
• Working knowledge of the FAR, DFAR and government contracting methods and terminology highly desired
